Evelyn Leon, grew up in the heart of the Midwest, spending most of her time outdoors, among nature. It is no wonder she developed a fascination with nature, and the environment and how that can incorporate into our everyday life.
It was her swim team coach in the late 1970′s who first introduced the youngster to natural remedies, with his special wintergreen muscle warm up, and blue cool down he would have the swimmers use before and after swim meets. He also encouraged the use of nutrients and supplements for healthier bodies.
Fast forward a few years to 1996, when an auto accident almost took her life. Suffering from soft tissue damage, head injury , dislocated pelvis back and neck injuries along with a few other injuries, it took 7 years for her to recover. During this time, disability funds dried up, but the medical bills kept piling on, it was her mother who suggested a home based business. It would be a way to earn some money, but could be worked around Evelyn’s health issues, and recovery period. Her mother shared stories of her memories of the Watkins Man, who would visit her grandmother’s house, and the products she remembered. She didn’t know if the company was still around, since she hadn’t seen a product in many years, but after a quick search, Evelyn found It was indeed still going strong since 1868, and signed up. It seemed like a natural fit, after all, Watkins was the first Natural Apothecary line.
It has been 14 years since Evelyn took the plunge with Watkins, and she is most well known for her unique way of brand awareness, and sharing the natural angle of the products in a out of the box manner. She has developed her business mostly online, through parties, nutritional classes, spa kit parties, create your own parties, and through her cartoon character, Super Spice.
